BEFORE UTM: The sharpshooter was rated by ESPN as the 10th best prospect in all of Alabama, and the fourth-best shooting guard prospect in the state...Playing for his father, Michael Smith, he represented the state of Alabama in the 20th annual Alabama/Mississippi All-Star Classic that took place in Pelham, Ala. last March...He led the Tigers to two area championships, as well as a regional championship and state runner-up appearance (2008)...A three-time all-state honoree, he led the Tigers to 32 consecutive victories - a school record, and graduated as Russellville's all-time leading scorer (1,681 points)...He averaged 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists and two steals per game as a senior...In the Alabama state playoffs this past season, he scored 27 points against 5A champions Lee-Huntsville and was named to the ASWA all-state second team...During his senior season, he posted a triple-double (16 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) against Tanner on Jan. 29, 2010.
